The Why
I ran out of treks and challenges to do in 2 weeks off work! After a trip up Kilimanjaro and numerous multi-day treks I realised I needed bigger challenges. So, in 2016, I signed up to a polar training course in Norway for interest.
I thought I would either hate it, love it but have my interest satisfied or maybe want to do a last degree ski.
In the end I caught the bug and set my mind on a full journey.
The Journey
I skied from Hercules Inlet on the land coast of Antarctic to the South Pole over 53 days.
The trip was a guided, supported journey of 702 miles (1130 km) pulling my own equipment and food supplies between air drop resupplies.
