82.8ºS, 21.6km covered yesterday
An eventful day by Antarctica standards, but serene compared to the chaos back in the UK…
The team got to the cache after less than an hour of skiing yesterday morning, so spent some time digging it out and packing the supplies into the pulks. Some unexpected surprises in there, including a (by now very frozen) 2L box of wine. Debatable whether the performance degredation caused by drinking it is outweighed by the effect of lightening the pulk!
The surface terrain remains pretty tough – with quite a lot of sastrugi to deal with which requires a lot of strength to traverse, so all in all, another decent day!
